Southwest Florida has a lot of options for you to enjoy the Fourth of July holiday and catch some fireworks.

Here’s the rundown:

NOTE: The Miromar Outlets fireworks event has been canceled. Mall officials cite safety concerns due to residential growth in the surrounding area.

Monday, July 3

Port Charlotte

What: Stone Crabs Independence Day Celebration

Where: Charlotte Sports Park, 2300 El Jobean Rd.

When: Gates open at 4 p.m.; game at 6:05 p.m.; fireworks to follow

Punta Gorda

What: Annual 4th of July Celebration

Where: Fishermen’s Village, 1200 W. Retta Esplanade

When: 11 a.m.-9 p.m.

Admission: Free

The celebration kicks off with annual Freedom Swim on Charlotte Harbor. Festivities will include live music and dancing; Harpoon Harry’s will offer kids’ crafts, treats and face painting, bathing suit and Hula Hoop contests. Viewing of the fireworks display over Charlotte Harbor begins at 9 p.m. For more info, go to


Punta Gorda

What: 4th Fest 2017

Where: Laishley Park, 100 Nesbit St.

When: 11 a.m.-9:30 p.m.

Admission: $3; kids under 12 free

There will be vendors, displays, food, drinks, live local music, inflatable waterslides, with fireworks slated for 9 p.m. All rides/food/beverages require tickets, except waterslides & bounce houses which accept tickets or a $10 all-day wristband. All proceeds go to support the Punta Gorda fireworks. Parking is free. For more info, go to



What: Firecracker Festival

Where: 300 W. Dearborn St.

When: 10 a.m.

Admission: Free

The annual Englewood Firecracker Festival, Block Party and Craft Show, followed by one of the largest fireworks shows in Southwest Florida, is presented by the Lemon Bay Sunrise Rotary. Enjoy food from local restaurants and vendors, as well as ice cold beer and frozen drinks. Over 60 craft vendors will be lining Dearborn Street, along with the area’s largest muscle car show. A kids game area with water slides and bounce houses will also be available. There will be three live bands with music beginning at noon. The Rotary will also be hosting their World Famous “Chicken Sheet BINGO.” The fireworks show will “Light up Lemon Bay” from Middle Beach (Blind Pass Beach) on Manasota Key after dark.
